Firefighters respond to house fire in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE -- Firefighters were dispatched about 11 a.m. Tuesday to the report of a house fire at 63 S. Market Street in Lafayette, near Terry Park.
Several callers told Yamhill Communications Agency dispatchers that flames were visible. Firefighters from multiple agencies responded.
One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion. Some residents of the house, including two children, were evaluuated for smoke inhalation.
An American Red Cross response team responded to assist one adult, four children and the family's two dogs. Officials are providing lodging, food, clothing, shoes, comfort kits and information about disaster mental health and health services.
The Yamhill County Fire Investigation Team is charged with determing a cause.
